Q.1: I'm having trouble downloading a PDF file. What can I do?

You should be able to access all of the latest PDFs from any computer with internet access (if you cannot, contact the NZES webmaster@newzealandecology.org.nz). Free access to in press articles, and current and back-issues is currently provided for members and non-members.

Q.2: I have found an error in the journal webpages, or I have found a typo in a NZ Journal of Ecology PDF. Who should I tell so the errors can be fixed?

If you find a web or PDF error, please let us know and it will be corrected. Please email a description of the error, or suspected error, to webmaster@newzealandecology.org.nz. When describing the error, make sure to include the web address of the webpage, or the file name and page number of the PDF file.

All the contents and abstract webpages are dynamically generated from a large central mySQL database of citation information. We have run several careful proof-reading sweeps through the database, but with so many articles, there will certainly be a few errors left to catch. Also, most of the NZ Journal of Ecology PDF files were built by complete reconstruction from computer-read, then human-proof-read, scans. This makes for small files, which are quick to download and print out crisply. It also allowed us to ensure a high accuracy of the searchable full-text, including place names and scientific names. However, it is likely that the occasional typo still exists in some files, especially with mathematical and other special characters.

Every time a PDF file is changed, it's version number will be increased. You can see the version number of a PDF file by selecting "Document Properties..." in the file menu of Adobe Acrobat Reader.
