The ecology of the Hutt Valley: Aspects of hydrology in the Hutt Valley

The Hutt river originates in what is known as the Hutt catchment where the eastern and western branches arise in the Tararuas from high country exceeding 4,000 feet. This catchment has an area of nearly 30 square miles.
