17th International Conference on the Ecology and Management of Alien Plant Invasions

Lincoln University, Lincoln

2 - 5 September 2025

The conference theme “From Ecology to Action: Innovative Solutions for Plant Invasion Management” captures the need for the science of plant invasions to deliver solutions.  New Zealand is an ideal setting to illustrate the way forward in terms of invasive plant management through biological control, community initiatives, and long-term national programmes.  Examples of these activities can all be found on the doorstep of Lincoln University and our location will be the stimulus for a memorable conference that will bring together leading researchers and practitioners to forge new insights into alien plant management.

Symposia include:

  1. Biological control of invasive alien plants
  2. Improved risk assessment of plant invasions
  3. Consequences of environmental change for plant invasions
  4. Wilding pines - current problems and future solutions
  5. New directions in invasive plant management
  6. Impacts of invasive plants above and below ground
  7. Understanding ecosystem invasibility
  8. Importance of people and policy to manage plant invasions
