The six CSV files include all data used in Twenty years on: changes in lizard encounter rates following eradication of rats from K?piti Island by Jennifer F. Gollin, Nic Gorman and Doug P. Armstrong.

These files are as follows:

1. Pitfall_stations shows characteristics of the 23 stations sampled in both 1994-1996 and 20014-2015. The Easting and Northing values shown are New Zealand Map Grid coordinates. The columns at the right show the Braun-Blanquet Vegetation Scores (GC = ground cover, LHC = large herb cover, SC = shrub cover, STC = small tree cover, TC = tree cover) in 1994-96 (94) and 2014-15 (14).

2. Transects gives a description of the 10 transect lines used for spotlighting and daytime searches in 1994-96 and 2014-15.

3. Weather gives the weather conditions on each day where data were collected. The columns on the right allow these data to be related to the dates shown as 1, 2, 3 etc. in the pitfall data, spotlighting data, and daytime search data.

4. Pitfall_data_RG_CG_KF shows data on captures of each lizard species (orn = Oligosoma ornatum, nig = O. polychroma, aen = O. aeneum, zel = O. zelandicum, mac = Woodworthia maculata) on each pitfall-trapping occasions in the Ridge Grassland, Coastal Grassland and Kanuka Forest habitats in relation to the pitfall station, individual trap, and date. The columns on the right were used as explanatory variables in the analysis. Station, trap and date were all treated as random effects. Month (1 = December, 2 = January, etc.) and time period (0 = 1994-1996, 1 = 2014-2015) were treated as fixed effects.

5. Spotlighting shows numbers of geckos encounter on each search in relation to the transect, date, habitat, month and time period.

6. Daytime_searching shows numbers of skinks and geckos encountered on each search in relation to the transect, date, habitat, month and time period.
